Summary

Scotland’s “favourite avant-garde noisemakers” Neu! Reekie! cross boundaries and borders with a one-off Hull happening featuring an eclectic mix of some of the UK counter-culture’s guiding lights and time-served trouble-makers. This unique event will feature incendiary live music from Young Fathers; pop and political powerhouse Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon; spoken word sensation Hollie McNish; Jamaican-British dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson; intercut with strange animations and powerful short films. Expect some high-profile special guests. Age guidance: 16+. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult, aged 18+, and seated in the balcony/gallery area.

Event schedule: 6pm film showing / 6.55pm Neu! Reekie! / 7pm Hollie McNish / 7.25pm Linton Kwesi Johnson / 7.55pm film showing / 8.10pm Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon / 9pm film showing / 9.25pm Young Fathers / 10.30pm finish and head to A Love From Outer Space.

Where Are We Now? will be a summer festival like no other: a gathering of time-served trouble-makers, spoken word rebels, artistic mavericks and leftfield music pioneers. Well be converging on the city of Hull to ask of todays counter-culture the soaring, searching question with which David Bowie kissed us goodbye.
