Hull 2017 and University of Hull presents Sky Passions: Philip Larkin by Andrew Motion, an Icon Films production, directed by Cris Warren.

Sir Andrew Motion, former Poet Laureate, close friend and biographer of Philip Larkin, explores the great poet’s life and work and his relationship to the city he called home: Hull.

Combined with Sir Andrew’s personal and candid story are performances of some of Larkin’s best-known work, as members of the Hull Community give recitals in a variety of locations around the city.

The screening will be followed by Anna Farthing, Curator of the Larkin: New Eyes Each Year exhibition, in conversation with Cris Warren, Director of Sky Passions: Philip Larkin by Andrew Motion discussing their various approaches to bringing new eyes and new audiences to Larkin’s life, work and legacy followed by a Q&A with the audience.
