Summary

Poet Simon Armitage invited you to join him on a festive foray through “God’s Own Country” to the edge of the world.

Inspired by the language and landscape of West Yorkshire, where he was born, Simon’s latest collection The Unaccompanied looks beyond the region to larger global concerns.

Simon’s acclaimed translation of the 14th-century quest narrative – Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, set in King Arthur’s court at Camelot at Christmas – has sold over 100,000 copies.

Part of the Reading The Ridings/Writing The City series, this will be a celebration of the rich literary heritage and culture of Hull and Yorkshire.
