Summary

The Royal Town Planning Institute Lecture will be delivered by Martin Green, CEO and Director of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

2017 is set to be a life changing year for the City of Hull that will leave behind a significant legacy for years to come. Martin will discuss how hosting the UK City of Culture is part of the City’s long-term plan to harness its heritage and culture to change perceptions of the city, attract investment and create much needed jobs for local people.

He will explore how the City of Culture project was constructed and curated and what the dramatic effect has been on the City to date. From a wider perspective, he’ll talk about the UK Cities of Culture project, its role in the arts and regeneration and how it can help transform 10 cities over the next 40 years.
