Join Assemble Fest’s closing event, a celebration of one of Hull’s most diverse and independent streets.
The annual theatre festival that delivers “performance where you least expect it” presents Our Street, Our Stage – the story of Newland Avenue told through a collaboration between residents and artists.
The street will become the stage to celebrate Newland’s colourful history, music, residents and culture through a series of promenade music, dance and visual installations. Explore the past of its iconic places, such as The New Adelphi Club and old Monica Cinema, and celebrate the diverse people who have made this avenue great.
A shared experience designed for all generations, Our Street, Our Stage will be a free event. Please note it will take place outdoors, so dress accordingly! Although it will be an accessible performance, this performance will be promenade and will require walking and standing between scenes. The performance will begin at 7.30pm at Clothes Factor car park on Newland Avenue.
Want to be involved? Assemble Fest is looking for volunteers to help its historian and creative team to research and conduct interviews about memories and life on Newland, steward the event and the festival, and more! Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
If you have purchased a ticket for an event/activity at this venue through hull2017.co.uk, please do not contact the venue direct with enquiries for that purchase as they will be unable to help.
