At 20.17 on Sunday 1 January 2017, an epic firework display will fill the skies above Hull. Set to the sounds of the city it will mark the start of our year in the spotlight.
A fireworks display over the Humber (accompanied by a Hull-inspired musical soundtrack) will help kick off Hull UK City of Culture 2017 in spectacular style on New Year’s Day 2017.
The display, which takes place at 20:17 (8:17pm), will feature recorded music by bands and musicians associated with Hull and come at the end of the opening day of Made in Hull, a unique multimedia journey into more than 70 years of Hull’s history. The gates will open at 18:00 (6pm) and we advise you to arrive in plenty of time to get through the ticket check.
Tickets for the fireworks display are being released in two batches. The first 15,000 were released on Wednesday 2 November at 8am and sold out within two hours. The second batch will be released on Saturday 5 November at 11am.

PRS for Music licences the use of copyright music across the UK, giving businesses and organisations the legal permission they need to play the music they want.
These licences ensure that music publishers, songwriters and composers are fairly rewarded with royalties so they can keep making music – and mean that we’re able to support music at events like this.
