Ever since its first performance in April 1742, “Messiah” has enjoyed a place in the hearts of the British public, and seems a fitting conclusion to Hull Choral Union’s contribution to Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

An afternoon performance in the magnificent setting of the city’s newly-designed Minster, the age-old story of Christ’s birth, passion, death and resurrection will be recounted by soloists, chorus and orchestra. Truly an afternoon not to be missed.

Accompanied by:

  • Hull Choral Union Baroque Orchestra

With Soloists:

  • Cressida Sharp – Soprano
  • Joanna Gamble – Alto
  • Austin Gunn – Tenor
  • Quentin Brown – Bass
