Summary

Discover pockets of artistic wonder as Humber Street Gallery sets out to ignite the imaginations of our younger generations through games, installations, performances and workshops.

Saturday

Jon Kean – Create a Giant Map of Hull

Based on an historic map of Hull, help create our own version of the city with drawings and post-it notes, using a variety of materials from paint and pastels to collage. Everyone’s work will be brought together to create an amazing final collaboration.

Helen Steele – Cardboard City

Let imaginations run free as you and your children build your own free-standing city with card, ribbons and raffia. Build your structure to be as large or small, as simple or elaborate as you wish to create.

Miranda Harr – Photography Workshop

Learn about simple photography ideas and techniques, through play and discussion, focussing on food, colour and the city. Explore composition, light, simple portraiture and what makes Hull, Hull! You can use your smartphone to practice taking pictures, and even leave with a print of your masterpiece.

Sunday

Sarah Johnson – Build the Future of Travel

Design and create futuristic cars, trains, boats and even spaceships, driven by handmade robots and superheroes to take home.

Lilly Williams – Create Your Own Road Signs

What would you like to see on a road sign? Your blank canvas awaits. Paint and decorate circles and triangles with anything you’d like from abstract patterns to words, animals or faces.
