BBC Radio 3 takes up residence at Hull Truck Theatre for a three-day festival of ground-breaking world music.
Reflecting on the city’s rich folk and roots heritage, the festival will feature a series of live concerts that highlight the musicianship of both hull-based and international artists.
Featuring Eliza Carthy & Friends, the evening will be inspired by Hull’s Waterson Family, celebrating the legacy of Waterson:Carthy through contemporary alternative folk music.
Eliza Carthy leads the band in contemporary alternative folk music inspired by the legacy of Hull’s Waterson family, and featuring some of the finest young singers on the English folk scene, plus percussion and electronics, introduced by Kathryn Tickell.
In addition, there will be a chance to be part of the Radio 3 family as some of the station’s best known programmes come to the city.
