A spell-binding performance from internationally acclaimed circus artists, Circa, in a unique and atmospheric location.

Led by Yaron Lifschitz with a creative team including the electronic musician Lapalux, this ethereal collaboration brings together acrobats, aerialists, choral singers and video artists for a heart-stopping performance.

Described as a meditation, Depart is a playground for the soulful, an art gallery without walls, a circus in search of transcendence filled with moments of joyous beauty.

Where is the event? How can I get here on public transport?

DEPART will take place at General Cemetery, adjacent to Spring Bank West from 18-21 May at 9.00pm each evening. 

What facilities are available on site?

Toilets will be available on site. Due to the short duration of the performance no catering services will be available. You may wish to visit a nearby cafe or restaurant on Chanterlands Avenue or Princes Avenue before or after the performance.

Will there be shelter from bad weather?

DEPART is an outdoor performance. Audience members should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear. Umbrellas are not permitted on site.

What access provisions have been made?

DEPART is a highly visual show with little dialogue. It is an outdoor space in wild parkland without paved pathways. Wear warm and comfortable clothes and footwear suitable for an outdoor environment. This is a processional performance where the audience move through the site. An area will be made available for those with access needs but audiences should note that a fixed vantage point will limit access to the full performance.

How long is the performance?  

The performance is approx. 80 minutes in duration.

Is this show family friendly?

The performance is suitable for all and attendance of young audiences are at parents’ discretion. Parents should note DEPART is not intended for young audiences but all are welcome. 

Who are Circa? What can I expect to see?

Circa are a world-leading contemporary circus company from Australia. DEPART  is a performance that involves contemporary dance, choral performance and a variety of contemporary circus skills including aerial acrobats.

What concessions are available?

A concession of £9 is available for eligible ticket buyers.
