Instant Dissidence is going to ask you to dance…

In 2016 artist Rita Marcalo, sociologist Maria Rovisco and film-maker Lucy Barker travelled to Calais. Rita danced with refugees in ‘The Jungle’ camp in Calais and they created a series of duets that they would like to perform with you. If you accept Rita’s invitation you will (through her and the exchanged gift of dance), perform a duet with one of those refugees, dance with a stranger and complete the connection.

Instant Dissidence is a UK-based company directed by Rita Marcalo. It is a way of bringing different artists together, in different combinations, to realise different ideas.
