Summary

Theatre On The Edge presents Dan Billany: Made In Hull.

Teacher and writer, Dan Billany, known for his freedom of thought and life as a rule-breaker, disappeared without a trace in World War II. He left behind the manuscripts of two novels that became international best sellers. The Trap was hailed as a wartime classic, whilst The Cage tells of Billany’s emotional relationship with fellow POW David Dowie.

Billany’s story is courageous and romantic, a story of its time. Theatre On The Edge brings the man to life on stage through readings, drama, live music and multimedia. The production coincides with a display mounted by Hull University, at the History Centre.
