What kind of madness can neighbours come up with when getting together in the front yards of a Hull street?
Boulevard Mad Yard Art will experiment with radio, music, sculpture and craft daily for three months, exploring the imaginations, the madness and the possibilities for self-organisation in the Boulevard area.
Playing with the construction of large-scale decorations, with producing neighbourhood music and theatre, all activities will take place in front yards, ending with a surprising weekend event.
Sessions run at the Boulevard village hall, 200 Boulevard, west Hull, every Monday, from 3pm to 5pm, and Thursday from noon to 2pm, up until Thursday 10 August 2017.
Mondays, from 3pm to 5pm: Bite The Biscuit Boulevard Internet Radio
All are welcome to to come along, have fun and have a go at broadcasting live on the radio, between 3pm and 5pm. For these two hours every Monday, the Boulevard village hall is transformed into a relaxed and informal radio station/tearoom combining snacking, interviewing and music to create a neighbourhood space streamed live on the internet. Crafted objects made live from rubbish while we broadcast. Wild music played. Completely unpredictable. If you can’t get down to the village hall, listen live during broadcast times.
Thursdays, from noon to 2pm: Craft activities and upcycling to create an outdoor “living room”.
Drop in, make a piece of art or craft and make friends. In good weather, keep your eyes peeled as Boulevard Mad Yard Art ventures out of the village hall and appears in front yards in the Boulevard.
Details to follow soon for a grand Boulevard Mad Yard Art finale on Saturday 12 August.
