Summary

There’s a buzz in the air as we bring award-winning shows to every corner of Hull in the school half-term holidays, with big names sharing the stage with familiar and favourite local artists. We’re transforming venues in the heart of local communities; from schools to shopping centres, there’s a festival hotspot right on your doorstep.

We’ve got something for everyone as we shine a spotlight on comedy, music, circus, theatre, cabaret, dance and film. There are stories that will bring a tear to the eye, belly-laugh jokes, magical moments and even a bit of puppet nudity. So what are you waiting for?

After bringing you big names and family fun from The Pigeon Detectives and Mark Thomas to Picture House and The Story of Mr B in February’s half-term, we’ve got two more exciting festivals planned for 26 May to 3 June 2017 and 27 October to 4 November 2017. Once again, we’ll be inviting everyone to come Back To Ours for more unmissable family shows and great nights out. Put the dates in your diary now – we don’t want you missing out on all the fun!

Bring a friend. Bring your parents. Bring your kids.

Heck, bring everyone Back To Ours.

THE WEST

We’re kicking off in the West at Sirius Academy West and Hymers College. These versatile venues hold everything you need for an action-packed half-term holiday in their amazing halls and theatres. We’re also throwing open the doors to that Anlaby Road gem, the William Gemmell social club.

THE NORTH

Festival fever sweeps through Bransholme as we head to the heart of the local community. See North Point Shopping Centre as you’ve never seen it before, as it transforms into a performance venue and the perfect spot for a story or two. We’re also taking over Winifred Holtby Academy and Kingswood Academy, whose spectacular theatres and studios will host award-winning shows with something for everyone.

THE EAST

We’ve got you covered in the East as Archbishop Sentamu Academy opens up its impressive theatre spaces. You only have to pop next door to see one of the community’s most-loved spaces in a new light as The Freedom Centre is transformed right on your doorstep.

Back To Ours is produced by Hull 2017 and Ed Collier at China Plate, Lee Fells at Leeds International Film Festival, Film Hub North, The British Film Institute, Dean Shakespeare at Revolver, Under The Influence and our amazing venue partners: Archbishop Sentamu Academy; Hymers College; Kingswood Academy; North Point Shopping Centre; Sirius Academy West; The Freedom Centre; William Gemmell; Winifred Holtby Academy.
