2017 may be over, but the culture certainly isn’t!

During February half-term we’re once again inviting everyone Back To Ours as our incredible festival returns by popular demand, keeping the whole family entertained with music, laughter and storytelling. From school halls to shopping centres, we’re transforming community venues into big tops, theatres and comedy clubs, as acrobats and musicians swing into a neighbourhood near you. From aerial extravaganzas to family-friendly shows about giant loo rolls and jaw-dropping bubbles, this year expect even more magical moments and laughs for the whole family.

Welcome to the first Back To Ours Festival for 2018. Bring a friend. Bring your parents. Bring your kids. Heck, bring everyone Back To Ours.

Picture House is back with your favourite characters brought to life, family fun, workshops and more. Join Lucky the Chicken and earn your wings. Make your own Claymation character in our animation workshop, help chickens fly and attend flight School before grabbing some popcorn and cosying up to see if Ginger and Rocky the Rooster can escape a grisly fate.

PICTURE HOUSE: WALLACE & GROMIT – CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT  SOLD OUT!

Picture House is back with your favourite characters brought to life, family fun, workshops and more. Become a member of our Inventor’s Club and help our scientists make fun contraptions, make your own Claymation character in our animation workshop, before settling down with a bag of popcorn to watch the adventures of Wallace and Gromit unfold.

The villagers living in the town below the Giant’s house had better watch out – his runaway loo roll has gone bouncing down the hill heading straight towards them! Find out what happens in this rip-roaring musical. Relaxed performance at 11am. Suitable for ages 2+.

You can’t get enough of our secret gigs, so don’t tell anyone but we’ve planned another! All we can say is that we’re back with another critically acclaimed comedy character.

THE AMAZING BUBBLE MAN SOLD OUT!

Think you know bubbles? Wrong! Let The Amazing Bubble Man delight and amaze you with his unique show and prepare to float away in a world of bubble volcanoes, rocket ships and maybe even a flying saucer.

Mayhem and madness ensues in this not-so-traditional telling of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic. There’ll be music, dancing, and pie facing madness from Hull Comedy Festival favourites Jed Salisbury and Gary Jennison. Suitable for ages 2+.

Reverend & The Makers will be shaking up Back To Ours with their distinctive fusion of indie rock, electro and dance. Formed by vocalist and songwriter Jon McClure – mentor to Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys fame – the band’s debut album The State Of Things made them a household name, with UK Top 10 anthemic single Heavyweight Champion Of The World shaking the music world by the scruff of the neck. BSL interpreted.

Thrillingly spectacular circus skills blend seamlessly with charm, clowning, theatrical storytelling and slapstick in this colourful  show from one of the UK’s leading contemporary circus companies.
Meet Madame and the charming staff of the quirkily ineffective Hotel Paradiso and their arch enemy, the dastardly Banker, who schemes to repossess the hotel. BSL interpreted on Sat 17 Feb at 8pm. Suitable for ages 8+.

TICKET INFORMATION

Child tickets are for children aged for 2-16 years. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For any other ticketing enquiries please contact boxoffice@hull2017.co.uk

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

There will be a relaxed performance of The Giant’s Loo Roll (Sirius Academy West). A BSL interpreter will be available at Reverend & The Makers (North Point Shopping Centre), The Amazing Bubble Man (Winifred Holtby Academy) and Hotel Paradiso (17 Feb, Archbishop Sentamu Academy).
