Child Dynamix hosts Hull’s first community arts jam.

Child Dynamix helps children, young people and families in Hull, offering childcare, advice, learning support and positive activities.

Proud members of our Community Brand since 2016, 2017 has been a busy year for Child Dynamix – the group behind Hull’s first ever Community Arts Jam on 29 July.

A Hull 2017 Creative Communities Project, the Arts Jam will brought together aspects of hip hop and urban culture, including graffiti art, DJing, breakdance, rap, spoken word, alongside other forms of media.

The event gave people the opportunity to take part in creative workshops, contribute to a piece of art, watch performances and enjoy work other people have produced whilst gaining a positive experience of urban music culture.

Before the event, Amie Wheal from Child Dynamix explained: “Everyone is very excited, this is set to be an amazing event that brings together families and communities to celebrate the diversity that Hull has to offer.”

And it’s not only preparation for the Arts Jam that has been keeping kids at Child Dynamix busy. Working with mentors from C4Di young people have been developing their engineering skills to build their GreenPower kit car, which was raced at the Project Blyth Electric Car Race at the KCOM Stadium on 16 July.
