What tickets are available through hull2017.co.uk?

Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Ltd (Hull 2017) sells tickets for its own produced and co-commissioned events / activities. In addition, as an authorised ticket agent, it sells tickets on behalf of its ticketing partners, selected venues and event partners. Hull 2017’s current ticketing partners include Hull Box Office, Hull Truck Theatre and Hull Culture & Leisure.

How do I book online? 

Choose the event / activity you would like to attend from our What’s On directory and follow the instructions on the pages to complete the process.

Do I have to register to buy tickets?

You need to create an account with Hull 2017 to be able to purchase tickets from our website. We do this to enable customers to view their order history, download tickets, view all of your upcoming events as well as opt-in to receive the latest updates from Hull 2017 and its ticketing partners. You can also update your personal, billing and contact details at any time.

Can I book by telephone?

We’ve invested in making our website and the booking process as simple as possible to allow customers to self-serve, 24/7. Although we strongly recommend you use our online services, we do operate a limited telephone service between the hours of Monday to Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm. You can call us on 01482 30 2017. Customers will be charged for tickets to be posted. Please be aware that it is likely you will be placed in queue and waiting times will vary.

What concession offers to you provide? 

Hull 2017’s ticketing partners operate different policies for concessions and we advise you visit their websites for more information. For Hull 2017 events, we define concessions as follows:

  • Senior citizen aged 65+
  • Individual under 18 years of age
  • Student
  • Low or unwaged
  • Deaf or disabled

What if I need help or advice?

You can get in touch on boxoffice@hull2017.co.uk. Our email service is in operation between the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday, and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays (unless otherwise advertised).

How will I receive my tickets?

Digital Tickets

All events / activities that are ticketed (free or paid) through hull2017.co.uk offer a quick and easy Print@Home ticket. You can print these yourself and present them at the event / activity or alternatively, present them on your smartphone. Tickets will be scanned.

Pre-Printed Tickets

You can select to have your tickets printed out and posted to you – there is an additional charge of £1.50 per order for this. If you misplace your tickets, you can download them by signing into your online account with us. We post tickets 1st class Royal Mail as standard. We do not take responsibility for tickets. Pre-Printed Tickets will become unavailable 48hrs before a event / activity.

Collect at Box Office

From time-to-time, our ticketing partners, selected venues and event partners may choose to offer a Collect at Box Office service. If this option is available, it will appear before you make your secure payment. You will need to provide your order number and confirmation of address (and in some instances named identification) to the box office member of staff.

I have paid for a pre-printed ticket(s), when will they be sent to me?

We aim to send tickets out within 72 hours of the purchase been made. In the extremely unlikely event you have not received your ticket in the post within 7 days of the event please do get in touch.

I can’t attend an event / activity I have booked for; can I get a refund?

Tickets cannot be refunded unless the event/activity has been cancelled or rescheduled. If refunds do occur, they will only be payable to the person who purchased the tickets and the original method of payment.

Can I exchange my tickets for another performance / event?

Exchanges are subject to the rules and Regulations of each ticketing partner, venue, event and/or event partner. For those Ticketing Partners that permit exchanges, customers will be permitted to exchange tickets of either a) the same face value ticket b) a cheaper face value ticket c) or more expensive for the same ticketing partner, venue or event partner events. If the new ticket is cheaper, we will not refund the difference or provide credit and if the ticket is more expensive, the customer can pay the difference. Tickets will only be exchanged a minimum of 48 hours before the performance and/or at the discretion of the Box Office Manager. A £1 admin fee will be charged for exchanges.

Payment Methods

We’re regularly update the type of payments methods we can accept. Currently, you can pay using the following credit/debit cards:

Visa, MasterCard, JCB and Maestro

We currently do not accept America Express or Amex. We also do not accept cheque payments due to the Cheque Guarantee Scheme closing in 2011. All payments are handled securely through our payment gateway provider, WorldPay.

Payment Currencies

We accept payments in Pound Sterling (GBP) only.

Do you offer any kind of priority booking scheme?

Hull 2017 does not currently offer any type of scheme with priority booking benefits. Our ticketing partners may offer this type of scheme – see their websites for more information.

How can I make a group booking?

Yes. We consider a group booking as 10 or more individuals. Group booking availability and offers are  specific for each event and will be advertised accordingly. If you would like to make a group booking and/or enquiry, you can contact us on boxoffice@hull2017.co.uk.

Waiting Lists

Hull 2017 does not operate waiting lists. Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. However, Hull 2017 reserves the right to operate a ballot scheme for specific events it produces, should it wish to do so. For those ticketing partners that do operate waiting lists, please visit their website.

Why do I have to pay transaction fees?

Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Ltd is a registered charity and applies a fee to bookings (the total basket value) to contribute towards the costs of operating a city-wide box office service. Our fees are based on the following structure:

Transaction fees are applied to the total basket value online, face-to-face and over the telephone.
