You’re invited to Meet The Funder

If you’re an artist or cultural community group, this event could help you secure funding for your projects.

A popular event that aims to help community groups and artists to secure funding is returning on Mon 13 Nov at the Royal Hotel. Organised by Hull 2017, Meet The Funder provides organisations and individuals with the chance to learn about the funding streams available to them whilst improving their marketing and project management skills.

Featuring a host of Hull 2017 partners, including Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and Hull City Council, who will each be giving presentations on the day, the event will also provide opportunities to have 1-2-1 meetings with funders.

Other funders and advisers who have confirmed their attendance at the event are:

– Arts Council England
– Charity Bank
– Creative ENRG
– East Riding of Yorkshire Council
– Groundwork
– HEY 100 – Clore Leadership Fellowship Programme

The event is free to attend, although tickets should be booked in advance.

Elaine Price, relationship manager at Arts Council England, said: “We’re really pleased to be taking part in this Meet the Funder event. Prospective applicants will have the chance to hear about our Grants For The Arts funding programme, including eligibility, criteria and how to develop a strong application. We want to continue to support artists and arts organisations in Hull, especially following the huge success of 2017, and we’re looking forward to hearing about interesting and exciting ideas for arts and cultural projects.”

Martin Green, director of Hull 2017, said: “2017 is a catalyst year and it is important looking forward that the brilliant arts and community organisations in this city carry on cementing Hull’s place as a cultural destination and a city where artists and arts organisations can thrive.

“I encourage as many organisations and artists as possible to learn more about the support available and meet those responsible for grants.”

Meet The Funder takes place on 13 Nov at the Royal Hotel, Ferensway, between 1pm and 7pm.
