Hull 2017 supplier The Strata Group show their support for City of Culture with trackside banner.
In a bold statement of their support for City of Culture, Hull 2017 supplier The Strata Group have unveiled a trackside banner on the company’s Hawthorne Avenue premises in Hull.
The signage (printed in a hard to miss bright yellow) celebrates City of Culture and will welcome all rail passengers using the major train routes in and out of Hull.
The Hull-based fabrication group are responsible for manufacturing some of the city’s most prominent recent artworks, including our floating Hull 2017 logo installation in Queens Gardens. The Strata Group created the installation for us back in October 2015, and powder-coated it in the same bright yellow as their new banner. The group also installed 54 artist-designed moths on buildings across Hull and East Yorkshire, as part of the Amy Johnson Festival’s A Moth for Amy trail.

The banner reveal marks the starting point of a new partnership between Hull 2017 and The Strata Group. Working with Hull 2017, The Strata Group will help to engineer, dress, brand and kit out key points in Hull city centre. We can’t give too much away at the moment, but specific projects will be confirmed in due course.

The Strata Group firms specialise in signage, engineering, interiors and furniture. Formed in Hull over 25 years ago, they employ a local workforce. They play an active part in Hull’s communities too, working with school children to deliver workshops and on-site days to learn about working in their industry. The group are also looking ahead to offer training opportunities to those in further education.
