Preview: Travel Photographer of the Year

The annual Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) competition sees amateur and professional photographers from around the world submitting images that provide a magnificent view of the planet – seen through the eyes of some insanely talented and creative individuals.

The beauty of TPOTY is you simply need a camera and a good eye. Entrants come from all sorts of ages and backgrounds, from young to old, beginner to expert.

Winners of TPOTY 2016 will be displayed in an outdoor exhibition in Princes Dock Street, Hull, from Thursday 18 May to Friday 30 June 2017 – and as part of Hull International Photography (HIP) Festival, the young photographers of HIP Club will host a retrospective exhibition of Young Travel Photographer Of The Year winners outside HIP Gallery, Princes Quay Shopping Centre, Hull, from Saturday 30 September to Wednesday 25 October 2017.

See a selection of the winning shots from TPOTY 2016 below.
