Relive your favourite moments of Hull 2017 with this brand new photographic book

The limited edition book will be published as a souvenir of a momentous year in Hull’s history.

The 200-page coffee table book ‘365’ contains hundreds of photographs taken at events throughout 2017, celebrating Hull’s year as UK City of Culture. The book reflects Hull 2017’s seasons: Made in Hull, Roots and Routes, Freedom and Tell the World.

Images range from Sean McAllister’s Made in Hull at the start of the year, to Jason Bruges Studio’s Where Do We Go From Here? at the end; radical commissions, including Slung Low’s epic Flood, dreamthinkspeak’s One Day, Maybe, Blast Theory’s 2097: We Made Ourselves Over and curious directive’s Frogman to music from John Grant’s North Atlantic Flux and Radio One’s Big Weekend.

Hull’s outstanding annual events feature too, from Freedom Festival to Humber Street Sesh. Visual arts and exhibitions play their part, including the Look Up programme and Humber Street Gallery, Ferens Art Gallery and the University of Hull’s Brynmor Jones Library. Performance comes in the shape of Hull Truck Theatre and Hull New Theatre, Middleton Hall and Stage @TheDock, not forgetting events staged in unusual spaces around the city, from Back to Ours to Land of Green Ginger.

There are so many indelible memories, so many incredible memories. As we reflect on an unforgettable twelve months, this lovely book will be a wonderful way to look back on 365 days in the life of this great city.

And all of this could be yours for £20 (plus £2.95 p&p to mainland UK). If you’re interested in bagging yourself a piece of Hull 2017 history the book will be available to buy from 9am, Mon 12 Feb from our online shop.

‘365’ is designed by the award-winning Office of Craig Oldham, the organisation behind the design for the acclaimed Hull 2017 exhibition Larkin: New Eyes Each Year, which invited a fresh response to the life of Philip Larkin. Poetry also features, with a new poem by Hull poet Shane Rhodes, entitled The Journey.

Most of the images in the book have been taken by talented Hull-based photographers, including Tom Arran; Mike Bartlett; Patrick Mateer; Josh MooreChris Pepper; plus local photographers James MulkeenSean Spencer; and the Leeds-based creative company Sodium.
