The Mick Ronson story: Turn And Face The Strange

We delve into the Mick Ronson archives on the 47th anniversary of The Man Who Sold The World.

We’ve all heard of Mick Ronson, but just how well do we know his story? Earlier this year, Hull writers and theatre makers Garry Burnett and Rupert Creed set out to tell the untold tale of how a working-class boy from Greatfield Estate became a globally recognised musician, travelling the world with David Bowie as a pivotal member of Spiders From Mars and championing a new social culture.

Through shared memories, personal photographs, memorabilia, archive film and a live band made up of former band mates and local musicians, these incredible stories were uncovered.

This is Turn And Face The Strange.
