Meet the world-class composers making music in Hull communities

The PRS Foundation residency has brought communities and composers together – find out what they’ve been working on this weekend.

In recent months, five renowned composers have been working intensively with community groups in Hull. Bringing their music-making techniques into schools, day centres and youth groups, these world-class musicians have been creating brand new pieces with the help of Hull’s diverse communities.

Eliza Carthy, Jason Singh, Brian Irvine, Errollyn Wallen and Sam Lee have all been part of the PRS Foundation’s New Music Biennial residency, and their work will be celebrated this weekend as part of the New Music Biennial.

We spoke to each of the artists during the residency to find out what they were working on and what they’ve learned from working here in Hull.

Don’t miss the PRS Foundation Residency Supergroup this Sunday, as part of the PRS Foundation’s New Music Biennial weekend. Head to Hull City Hall from 1.30pm to see what they’ve all been working on. Tickets are free and can be booked in advance, or you can get in on the door.

Find out more about PRS Foundation New Music Biennial and book your free tickets for other performances throughout the weekend.
