Gallery – Fountain 17

We look back at a selection of work exhibited as part of Fountain 17.

Fountain 17 was influenced by Duchamp’s most notorious ‘readymade’ Fountain, which he presented for exhibition to the 1917 Society of Independent Artists under the pseudonym R. Mutt.

Despite its ordinary, functional and mundane appearance, Fountain has been described as one of the most influential art works of the 20th century.

Check out just some of the work exhibited, including pieces by Anna Bean, Clare Holdstock, Jasleen KaurLemn Sissay and Mike Chevez-Dawson.
