Get your hands on tickets to four new shows, plus extra tickets for previously announced Back To Ours performances this week.
Fancy seeing a Mercury Prize-winning singer-songwriter, award-winning hip-hop theatre, a feast of beastly films and a top-secret gig? Now you can, as we’ve added them all to our Back To Ours festival line-up!
Badly Drawn Boy, Skin, Picture House and our critically acclaimed special guest all join Black Grape, Bedtime Stories, Once Upon A Pillow Fight and Drip during the autumn half-term holidays for a family festival that brings mesmerising arts and culture experiences to your doorstep.
Tickets for these spectacular new shows will be available to buy from North Point Shopping Centre, Bransholme from 10am on Thursday 21 September.
And extra tickets will be up for grabs for the sold-out Black Grape, Bedtime Stories and Once Upon A Pillow Fight shows plus musical comedy, Drip.
Creating unforgettable moments around the city, Back To Ours will make its way to Sirius Academy West, Hymers College, William Gemmell Social Club, Kingswood Academy, Winifred Holtby Academy, North Point Shopping Centre, Archbishop Sentamu Academy and The Freedom Centre from Tuesday 31 October to Sunday 5 November.
Over at The Freedom Centre, Badly Drawn Boy will perform an unmissable intimate gig on Thursday 2 November with tickets priced at £7.50. As the man behind the soundtrack for About A Boy, starring Hugh Grant, whose debut album The Hour Of The Bewilderbeast went on to win a Mercury Prize, this is certainly not one to miss.
Meanwhile at Winifred Holtby Academy, 201 Dance Company presents Skin, a fusion of urban and contemporary dance with an original score, telling a boy’s intimate journey of gender transition to discover a body that feels like home. Led by choreographer Andrea Walker, this fast-paced, emotionally driven tale of family, identity and belonging is set to be a highlight. Tickets for the performances on Tuesday 31 October and Wednesday 1 November will cost from £2.50.
We’ve also teamed up with Hull Independent Cinema to present a beastly trilogy of films for our Picture House screenings. Monsters Inc, Rocky Horror Picture Show and the 2017 remake of Beauty And The Beast will be screened at Sirius Academy West on Tuesday 31 October, Winifred Holtby Academy on Thursday 2 November and The Freedom Centre on Saturday 4 November.
Film-goers are encouraged to get their glad rags on as Monsters Inc will be accompanied by a Monster Mash, Beauty and the Beast will feature a Beastly Ball and Rocky Horror Picture Show will be presented alongside a live DJ. Tickets will be available for all screenings from £2.50.
Back To Ours producer Louise Yates said: “We launched Back To Ours last year with our debut festival going live in February. The people of Hull bought into the festival from the very start with sell-out shows including The Pigeon Detectives and The Red Shed by Mark Thomas.
“By our second festival in May, the reputation of Back To Ours had grown, with more sell-out performances, including Tipping Point.
Demand for our latest festival is even greater with people snapping up the first wave of Black Grape tickets within hours. We don’t expect tickets to hang around for long, so if you’re desperate to bag yourself a pair, your best chance is to come along to North Point on Thursday.
Any remaining tickets for Back To Ours will be released online on Friday 22 September at 10am.
